Waringa Njonjo, Managing Partner


BIO

Waringa is the Managing Partner at MMAN Advocates and head of our Commercial and Projects Practice Groups.

A founding partner of the firm, she has over 17 years’ experience in corporate and infrastructure transactions.  She focuses on banking and finance, corporate advice and mergers and acquisitions (including merger control), acting as lead counsel to both international and local clients.

Her energy and infrastructure, involves advising project implementers in relation to corporate structuring, land rights acquisition, regulatory compliance, preparation; and negotiation of project documentation and project finance documentation.

Waringa is qualified in two jurisdictions, being a Barrister-at-Law, England and Wales and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She is a Commissioner for Oaths, a Notary Public and a member of the Law Society of Kenya and the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.

Waringa has been ranked for several years by internationally recognised legal directories such as Chambers Global under Commercial & Corporate as well as by the International Financial Law Review (IFLR1000) under Financial and Corporate law and Legal 500 as one of Kenya’s leading commercial lawyers.

She is a board member of The Book Bunk Trust and PharmAccess Foundation, Kenya. She has contributed to Getting the Deal Through – Merger Control as the Kenya jurisdiction author for the 2020, 2021 and 2022 editions, and Getting the Deal Through – Kenya Country Focus - The Legal Landscape as a contributing author for the 2017, 2018 and 2019 editions.

- Degree of the Utter Bar - the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple

- BSc. Economics in Law and Political Studies – University of Wales, Aberystwyth
